How can I get a Yellow Lantern Program at my child's school?

How do I join my child up to a Lantern League Club?
See the Lantern League page for a club near you. You may contact the club Chairperson directly. If there is no club in your area you may wish to start one. Click here to request more information.
What are the fees?
Costs associated with the programs vary depending type of program and student class numbers. Your school can expect to pay between $1180 and $2980 (approximately) for the 8 week program. This will depend on how many classes your school has in the grade level. Short workshops vary between $220 - $820 each.
Lantern League fees will vary from club to club. They usually involve a $55 annual registration fee and a monthly payment of $30-$40.
How long do the sessions go for?
8 week Shine Your Light Program
1.5hr session delivered each week in your child's school classroom (or after school venue). On the 7th week of the program your facilitator will host a 1 hr Shine Your Light graduation night.
Short Workshops Workshops
1.5 - 3 hours duration. This may include a 15 minute break in the middle.
Lantern League Club
This depends on your local club. Usually a Lantern League session will be held fortnightly for 1.15hrs
Can my child trial a Lantern League session?
Absolutely. The first session is always free. Your second session can be paid at a session rate. After that your child will need to become a member and commit to their club for the remainder of the school year. Contact your local Lantern League Club for more details. Or start your own club here.
I want to book a SHORT workshop. Can I change the duration time?
Each workshop has
been designed to run for a period of 1.5 hours. Should you wish to alter or change this schedule you may do so. However
a facilitator will only be available to your organisation for a minimum of 1.5
hours and a maximum of 4 hours. We try to be as accommodating as
possible, so please discuss your particular needs with us.
Can we tailor the sessions to suit our needs?
Each workshop has a set design which we find runs powerfully and smoothly. However we are happy to incorporate your suggested theme or emphasise a particular area you would like to place focus on.
How many students can participate in Yellow Lantern programs?
Shine Your Light 8 week program is delivered to an entire grade level. We recomend Grade 5. (maximum class sizes of 33 students per class).
Short workshops can be delivered to individual classes or entire grade levels
Lantern League clubs operate with minimum of 8 participants & maximum of 20
Private & small group coaching is available to individuals and privately organised groups.
Each student receives a certificate of 'New Beginnings" upon full attendance of our programs.
As a school, what do we need to provide?
- a secure classroom for the presenters & students
- school teacher present during session duration
- access to the room 10 minutes prior
- access to school photocopier to print student handouts*
* Supplying the printing of your own program handouts & course certificates insures the cost of this program remains as low as possible. Please notify us if you do not wish to assist in the printing (as an extra photocopy fee of $45 must be added to your agreement).
What if I need to cancel a booking at my school?
A 50% deposit will be taken at the time of booking your workshop. Full payment of your invoice needs to be received prior to the session start date. You may choose to pay the entire amount upfront.
A 50% cancellation fee will be charged if notification is not received at least 60 days prior to the date of the program. A 100% cancellation fee will be charged if notification is not received at least 30 days prior to the date of the program. If Yellow Lantern needs to cancel the program for any reason, you will be offered alternative dates. If these dates do not work 100% payment will be refunded.
How do I book a program?
Request a sample quote here. With the details you provide we will issue you with a booking agreement. Upon returning the signed agreement and paying a 50% deposit, your booking will be confirmed and your dates held in our calendar.
